Introduction to ARC

The Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS) is part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and hosted by Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Kent and working alongside the regional Universities of Surrey, Sussex, Chichester, Greenwich and Brighton.
 
We also work with NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems; local authorities, including public health and children's social care; community groups; charities and industry partners. Together we deliver high-quality applied health and social care research across the region and beyond.
 
The NIHR ARCs are regional collaborations between organisations that undertake applied health and care research. The NIHR has awarded £157 million over five years to 10 ARCs across England. ARCs support applied health and care research that responds to the needs of local populations and health and care systems.
