One of the main functions of Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) is to work with schools and colleges to help them develop a whole school and college approach (WSCA) to mental health and wellbeing for all children and young people. The Best Practice Review and Evaluation of WSCA within MHSTs found that despite encouraging WSCA activity, there are a lack of measures in place to evaluate the impact of WSCA.
We are pleased to launch the Whole School and College Approach Measurement Toolkit. This self-assessment toolkit includes the Outcomes Self-Assessment Tool (OSAT) and the Implementation Self-Assessment Tool (ISAT). This toolkit was developed alongside pupils, education staff and MHST colleagues across southeast, east and northeast of England and is designed to allow education settings to continually evaluate the implementation and impact of their work on the WSCA.
We are holding a webinar on 6 December from 9-10.30am to introduce this toolkit and give an opportunity for colleagues to trial the digital tool that we have developed and give us feedback so that we can scale the digital tool nationally. The target audience for this session is colleagues working in educational settings and MHSTs, schools and colleges, NHSE, DfE and academia.
