PhD scholarship opportunity in Social Care
The University of Kent, in collaboration with the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey and Sussex, are offering a PhD scholarship opportunity in Social Care, based at the Centre for Health Service Studies.
This opportunity is open to all candidates interested in social care research with the following requirements:
- Have completed a health- or social work/care-related postgraduate training course at Master's level equivalent to merit or distinction.
- A combination of qualifications and/or experience that is equivalent to a relevant UK Master’s level degree may also be accepted.
- This studentship is available for eligible UK home-rate fee candidates only.
The scholarship is open to applicants with a defined research proposal relevant to social care. We particularly welcome applications from prospective students interested in the below but are not limited to these areas as all applications welcome.
- Experiences of and support for family and unpaid carers
- Understanding issues around variation in use, equity, and access to social care
- Use of outcome measures in adult social care
- Contributing to and reviewing the evidence on the evaluation of person-centred models of social care provision
The studentship will cover tuition fees, plus an annual maintenance stipend, as well as an annual research training support allowance.
