A new, national eLearning programme designed to help schools and colleges create mentally healthy environments for learners and staff has officially gone live.

The MindEd Whole School and College Approach programme is a free, co‑produced resource developed with input from mental health professionals, educators, and people with lived experience. It aligns with guidance from the Department for Education and NHS England, supporting education settings to embed wellbeing across their communities.

Developed collaboratively by key organisations – including Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex and the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration Kent Surrey Sussex (ARC KSS) – the programme offers 6 concise modules. These cover essential areas such as children and young people’s mental health, policy alignment, evidence‑informed practice, workforce roles, and creating sustainable wellbeing strategies.

Becca Randell, Mental Health Lead at Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex and Children and Young People's Mental Health Lead at the ARC KSS, described the co‑design process as “an invaluable experience.”

She explains: "The research into the best practice review of whole school and college approach, the national policy work on this agenda alongside the development of the digital whole school and college measurement toolkit has enabled us to lead on developing the sessions around creating a practical and sustainable whole school and college strategy and the roles needed to delivery this approach.   We are delighted to see this eLearning available to schools and colleges"

The programme is aimed at leaders, teachers, pastoral teams, and anyone involved in supporting wellbeing within education environments.

Sessions are now available, and you can book your session today.
