Sharing findings from the NIHR ARC KSS funded CATALYST project: A workforce development and service improvement initiative.
This is an event for those interested in learning the research outcomes from the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration Kent, Surrey, and Sussex (ARC KSS) funded CATALYST project: Co-designing & testing an Asset-based TAsk-sharing modeL for Youth mental health Services in deprived communiTies.
CATALYST used a cascading approach to mental health care, adopting elements of a train-the-trainer approach, aiming to embed psychologically-informed support into community organisations and the everyday spaces where young people live their lives.
With five VCSE partners across Sussex, we will explore the implementation of the CATALYST model by non-specialist workers, examining the acceptability, accessibility, feasibility, and appropriateness of community-led youth mental health care. We will present what supports are needed for non-specialist workers to deliver safe and effective mental health support, along with reflections from those involved.
The afternoon will focus on co-developing the next steps for CATALYST to inform further development and sustainability of the model, and identifying shared priorities for mental health care across systems and communities.
We kindly ask for you to only sign up if you can commit to attending on 24th March 2026 in-person on University of Sussex campus. If you can no longer attend please let us know by emailing Catalyst@sussex.ac.uk or cancel your ticket through Eventbrite.
Please note, we will be providing lunch, and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
