Kathryn, Theme Lead for the Starting Well: Children's Mental Health theme at ARC KSS, is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sussex and a Clinical Research Fellow and Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads Psychosis Research, chairs the Psychosis Clinical Academic Group and is Research Lead for the Digital Board.
Her recent research focuses on improving social, functional and physical health outcomes for people with psychosis. Over the past few years, she has secured more than £2.2 million as Chief Investigator and contributed as co‑applicant to a further £18 million of funded projects, with work centred on understanding cognition and self‑beliefs, enhancing engagement with evidence‑based psychological interventions, and supporting robust, service‑user‑led evaluation.
Kathryn also directs the Sussex Psychosis Research Interest Group (SPRiG), delivering a monthly seminar series that brings together clinicians, researchers, students, service users and carers.
