Nyangi has a BSc and MSc in Human nutrition from Sokoine University in Tanzania. In 2015, she was awarded a Commonwealth scholarship to study for a PhD in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Surrey. Her PhD research focused on understanding the role of nutrition, body composition and inflammatory responses to anaemia management therapy among haemodialysis patients. In 2018, Nyangi was awarded a Schlumberger Foundation Fellowship to research the feasibility of low impact exercise interventions for people being treated with haemodialysis, facilitated by the use of activity tracking devices. Following completion of her PhD, Nyangi joined the School of Health Sciences in January 2020 to work on a HEIF funded project aimed at using digital technology to promote healthy ageing. Nyangi is now appointed as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow for Digital Innovation theme of ARC KSS and she will be based within the School of Health Sciences, University of Surrey. Nyangi’s research interests focus on the development and evaluation of digital technologies to improve delivery and access to health care services to the deprived/hard to reach communities. In particular - dietetic services and management of long-term conditions.
