Jo is a Senior Research Fellow at University of Sussex and a medical parasitologist and public health researcher based at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health.
Within ARC KSS, Jo is a principal investigator of two Public Health theme projects: (1) Controlling scabies outbreaks and understanding dermatoses of public health concern in residential care for the elderly, refugee/migrant settings and other semi-closed institutions; (2) Novel diagnostic tests, infection control, and vaccination regimes for infectious diseases in residential and home care for the elderly. Before joining Brighton and Sussex Medical School as a researcher in 2014, Jo worked in emergency care and taught courses for Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust staff and those travelling to remote areas.
