Miscellaneous Information
Fiona is a recent Psychology graduate from the University of Kent who's passion lies in young people's mental health, disability, diversity and inclusion, co-production, lived experience work, and service improvement.

After spending a year at Kent Children and Young People's Mental Health Services as a placement student, they now work for Sussex Discovery and Recovery Colleges as a Peer Trainer delivering courses to young people, adults, and their families who are struggling with mental health challenges. Fiona got their start in mental health campaigning in 2016 when they joined Free Your Mind, an awareness and destigmatisation campaign group run by West Sussex County Council's Youth Cabinet. They went on to become an Expert by Experience with Sussex CAMHS Participation and have taken part in work from developing and delivering training to mental health professionals, sitting on hiring panels for Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and developing resources for YMCA, CAMHS and School Mental Health Teams in Sussex. They are driven to use their lived experience of mental health services to ensure that these services continue to offer the best care possible, guided by the views of lesser heard groups in the community to ensure that everyone can get the support they need on their recovery journey.
