Ethel Jardim

PhD Student (University of Kent) Primary and Community Health Services

Ethel Jardim

Ethel joined ARC KSS on a part time basis in September 2021 as a PhD candidate in Applied Health Research, hosted by the University of Kent.  

She is a Physiotherapist by profession and has been working in the field of chronic pain since 2009. Ethel is currently employed as an Advanced Chronic Pain Practitioner with the Community Chronic Pain service at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust.  

The focus of Ethel's research is pain acceptance and how this is achieved by individuals living with chronic pain, to enable them to live well despite their pain.   This aligns closely with the ARC’s research theme focusing on improving care for people who present at primary and community health services with chronic conditions.
