Miscellaneous Information

Emma has been involved in youth participation and co-production for many years, she is extremely passionate about young people's mental health, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, applied research and using lived experience to help shape and change mental health services for the better. Emma's passion for service improvement is driven by many years of being a patient in mental health services herself.

Emma started working with the User Voice and Participation team at Surrey County Council in 2017. One of Emma's favourite projects with the team is helping design and deliver mandatory user perspective training for mental health professionals, as well as specific training on working with LGBTQ+ young people and those with additional needs and/or disabilities.

Since graduating from the University of Kent with a degree in psychology, she has started working with Surrey's All Ages Autism Strategy to run an Autism Friendly Schools review as a lived experience expert. When she is not doing any of the above you can find her walking her dog or painting.
